Hydration
Log your drinks and see how much water you really got today.
About
Hydration is a simple drink journal. Tap a drink, tap a serving, and it is on today's list. Every drink counts only the share of it that is actually water, so a coffee, a beer and a glass of juice each add what they should toward your daily target, and the caffeine, alcohol, energy, sugar and protein in them are added up next to it. The app comes with ready-made drinks such as water, coffee, tea, milk, juice, soft drink, beer and wine, each with standard servings, and more such as herbal tea, cocoa, protein shake, kefir, ayran, plant milk, smoothie, coconut water, sports drink and cider, as well as soup, yogurt and fruit counted by weight, which can be shown in Settings. Their values are generic averages per 100 ml, so a drink whose label says otherwise can be edited for your account only, or added as your own drink. In Settings, a page of its own, you manage the list of drinks: change their values and servings, add your own, and show or hide any drink. The main screen lists only the shown drinks, the most recently used first, and the servings under a drink are ordered the same way. Set your daily target and choose millilitres or US fluid ounces. Every entry keeps the values it was logged with, so editing a drink later never changes past days, and your changes to ready-made drinks stay when the app is updated. Look back at any day, or at the last two weeks at a glance. Times and dates follow your regional settings, and the same journal follows your Apps Hub profile between the desktop and the public page on your phone. With Premium, a Budget reward can be switched on in the desktop Settings. Every Apps Hub profile then chooses an amount and a Budget category to add it to, and optionally another category to take it from, and the moment the daily target is reached the amount is paid once for that day, the profile is told, and it shows up in Budget. With the Health app installed, every profile can also send its daily water, caffeine, alcohol, energy, sugar and protein to Health to see charts and statistics there.
What it does
- Ready-made drinks: water, coffee, espresso, black and green tea, milk, juice, soft drink, energy drink, beer, wine and spirits, each with standard servings, plus herbal tea, cocoa, protein shake, kefir, ayran, plant milk, smoothie, coconut water, sports drink, cider, soup, yogurt and fruit that can be shown in Settings.
- Water counted per drink from its own water percentage, not from the full volume.
- Caffeine, alcohol, energy, sugar and protein totals for every day, from values per 100 ml that every drink can have.
- Settings page with the list of drinks: edit values and servings, add your own drinks, restore defaults and show or hide any drink.
- Main screen with only the shown drinks, most recently used first, and the servings of the chosen drink ordered by last use.
- A free amount field and servings in millilitres or US fluid ounces.
- Daily target with a progress ring, and a two-week history.
- Edit or delete any entry, and browse previous days.
- Public web page for your Apps Hub account.
- External API: scripts and other apps can log drinks, read days and history, and manage drinks, servings and visibility, once you allow it in Settings.
- Premium: a Budget reward for reaching the daily target, paid once a day into a category you choose, optionally taken from another one.
- Optional: send daily water, caffeine, alcohol, energy, sugar and protein to the Health app, per profile.
Integrations
With Premium and the integration switched on in Settings, every profile can choose an amount, a category to add it to and optionally a category to take it from. Reaching the daily water target pays the amount into Budget once for that day, and the profile is told. Without Budget, or with the integration off, Hydration works exactly as before, without a reward.
Requires: Premium, Budget installed, and its App API enabled in Apps Hub → Settings → App APIs. The switch is off by default.
When a profile switches it on in Hydration, the daily water, caffeine, alcohol, energy, sugar and protein totals are sent to Health, where they get charts and statistics next to weight and blood pressure. It is off by default, and without Health Hydration works exactly as before.
Requires: Health installed and its App API enabled in Apps Hub → Settings → App APIs.
