Terms of Service
These Terms govern your access to mvmos.org, mvmOS software, optional Premium content, and support services. By using them, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Notice.
1. mvmOS service model
mvmOS is self-hosted software. You choose where to install it and are responsible for the server, network, backups, user accounts, applications, data, and configurations under your control. mvmOS is not a managed hosting provider and does not operate or administer your installation for you.
2. Your responsibilities
- Keep your server, operating system, mvmOS installation, passwords, API keys, and backups secure.
- Use the software lawfully and respect the rights, licenses, and privacy of others.
- Do not use mvmOS, Premium services, or the website to distribute malware, interfere with services, bypass licensing controls, or conduct unlawful activity.
- Review third-party app, API, and integration terms before enabling them. Their data practices are independent of mvmOS.
3. Premium licenses
Premium features and content require a valid license. A license is personal to the purchaser or authorised holder and is limited to the number of seats purchased. mvmOS may validate a license and device seat periodically to provide Premium content and prevent unauthorised duplication. You must not share, resell, circumvent, or attempt to defeat license controls except where mandatory law permits otherwise.
Premium content, including protected app packages and add-ons, remains licensed rather than sold. Unless a separate written license says otherwise, no ownership interest in mvmOS intellectual property is transferred to you.
4. Support
Support is provided on a reasonable-efforts basis and is not a guarantee of a particular response time, fix, compatibility result, or availability. By submitting a support request, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you have not included sensitive data, credentials, or information you are not entitled to share.
5. Availability, updates, and changes
mvmOS, the website, documentation, store, and Premium services may change, be updated, suspended, or discontinued. We may modify these Terms when needed; the current version will be published here. Continued use after a change takes effect means acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
6. Disclaimers
mvmOS is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and error-free operation. You are responsible for testing updates and maintaining backups before deploying software in a production environment.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, mvmOS and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, business interruption, or security incidents arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
8. Third-party services
mvmOS may link to or integrate with services operated by others. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy notices. We are not responsible for their availability, content, security, or processing of data.
