About

Every system-level control in one place, tab by tab — and where an app's own settings form gets embedded when it registers one. Regional settings include Bitcoin alongside conventional currencies. A guided Setup Wizard welcomes new installations and can be revisited from Settings. A searchable home screen groups related controls before opening their tabs.

What it does

  • Display, wallpaper and screensaver.
  • Regional format, language and currency, including Bitcoin (BTC).
  • Default apps: see which app opens each file type, change it per type or for a group of types, give an app to an extension nothing knows yet, and restore the defaults.
  • Start Menu configuration.
  • Backups, SSH access and user accounts.
  • System info and core updates.
  • Subscription tab — where a premium licence key is entered and managed.
  • Setup Wizard for regional choices, privacy, app discovery and Premium information.
  • Optional anonymous usage statistics that the Setup Wizard asks about directly, sending only a random report ID, the mvmOS version, language, Linux distribution and processor architecture.
  • Automations section, where the server owner decides whether Automations rules may work between apps.
  • Server changes and backup creation, download and deletion require administrator confirmation with your Linux password, remembered for fifteen minutes without use. Links to a settings category open its first tab directly.

💎 With Premium

Open selected app functions to trusted scripts and services outside mvmOS.

External APIs

Choose which built in and Store app APIs can be used from outside mvmOS, then create tokens limited to only the functions each script needs. Tokens are shown only once and can be removed immediately. Store app tokens belong to individual Apps Hub profiles, while only the server owner can make tokens for built in APIs. Without a licence the desktop controls show the subscription prompt and public profiles do not see an API section at all.
