Meet mvmPlayer

Meet mvmPlayer
mvmPlayer 1.0.0 gives your mvmOS installation a shared library for movies, series, lessons and personal recordings. Watch on the desktop or an Apps Hub browser page while keeping progress separate for each profile. Upload and organize • Desktop administrators can upload multiple files or a folder in retry-safe chunks, then review the saved videos. • Filename and folder recognition supplies editable movie years and season or episode numbers. • Every profile keeps its own watching progress, completion flags, favourites, history and private collections. Watch your way Open a video's details before choosing Play or Resume. Use playback speed, short jumps, fullscreen or picture in picture where the browser supports it. Optional automatic next-episode playback follows the uploaded episode order; unavailable episodes are not downloaded. External SRT and WebVTT subtitles are supported. Administrators can add shared subtitles, or a viewer can open a subtitle file locally without uploading it. Editing a title, cover or online match preserves the video's identifier and everyone's saved progress. Optional catalogue details TVmaze suggestions can provide series details and known seasons or episodes. Matches are checked against the file's exact season and episode number, and episode fields are applied separately from series-wide information. Wikipedia search can suggest movie details and images, with manual review and visible attribution. Catalogue failure does not remove uploaded files. Know the playback limits This first version plays files directly when the browser supports their container and codecs. It does not transcode or remux, extract embedded subtitles or integrate with Jellyfin. No separate media service or FFmpeg installation is required by the app. mvmPlayer is separate from the mvmVideo editor. It requires access to a Linux server with mvmOS installed; its phone view is a browser view of that installation.
