mvmOS Apps in Your Browser

mvmOS 1.7.0 brings your server's public apps into the browser toolbar. mvmOS Apps is a new browser extension for Chrome and Firefox, offered from the extension button in the Apps Hub window. Its popup shows the Apps Hub public page of your own server, with its usual header, so you can move from one public app to another without leaving the popup. It reopens on the page you used last, and a home button takes you back to Apps Hub. A public app shown in the popup can learn which site your current tab is on and, when you ask it to, read that page as you see it. It can also ask to read up to twenty other pages of the same site, one after another, as you see them when signed in. Before that happens the popup lists exactly which pages it wants and asks you, and you decide whether to allow it once or for that app on that site from then on. Nothing is read without that answer, and outside the extension public pages behave exactly as before. The first app to use this is Hattrick Calculator, a new app in the Store for Hattrick managers that imports a whole team straight from Hattrick. It has its own introduction in a separate article. Apps can now also open a terminal in a chosen folder with a session of its own. When tmux is installed on the server, that session keeps running while the connection is gone, so a reconnect or a reloaded page returns to the same shell with whatever was running in it, until the app closes the terminal on purpose. Git Manager 1.10.0 uses this for its repository terminals: they open straight in the repository's folder, and a long running command or an editor survives a dropped connection. IGP Calculator 1.1.0 now learns from your real races. After a race you enter each pit stop and the finish from the race report, with the lap, the tyre left on the set that came off and the fuel left, and the calculator works out the real wear of every tyre. Your next forecasts use it, first from the same driver's race on that track, then from the last race there, and on a new track from the average of all your races. Older races can be entered with only their pit stops, and a race can now be set to rain, so intermediates and wets are planned from their own practice data and from how long they really lasted in earlier rainy races. Score Arena 1.4.0 now stops after every game of a match to show each player's statistics for that game and for the whole match so far, such as the average, the first nine average, the best turn, busts, marks, targets hit or strokes to par, together with the standings and who throws first next.
