Core apps

App Store

Last updated 2026-09-11

Purpose

App Store is the desktop client for browsing, installing, updating, and configuring Store apps, widgets, and themes.

Capabilities

  • Browse apps by category from Store manifests.
  • Search a whole store from its own tab, across every category at once.
  • Install and update apps from the same interface, including a batch update that asks for backend approval once and leaves any failed update available to retry.
  • Manage widget and theme stores.
  • Open an app’s own settings form when the app provides one.
  • Ask for confirmation before an installation that needs a server backend.
  • Show which apps have a licensed Premium build available.

Before installing

Read an app’s documentation, required permissions, integrations, and storage behaviour. Back up app data before major updates. Store apps are separate from Core and can add their own server-side services.
